How to play
One puzzle a day for your group. Five minutes, together.
1. Everyone picks a secret letter
Each player in the group secretly chooses one letter. You can change your mind until you lock it in. Nobody sees anyone else's letter until every eligible player has locked.
2. The letters reveal at once
When the last player locks, all the letters flip over together. These are your required letters — position doesn't matter, they just have to appear in the word.
3. One hidden word is chosen
We pick a single word that uses every contributed letter. It's the same word for everyone in the group, and it stays hidden.
4. Everyone solves it on their own
You each get 3 guesses. After each guess, every letter is marked: a filled circle for the right letter in the right spot, a half circle for the right letter in the wrong spot, and an empty circle for a letter that isn't in the word. Teammates only see how you're doing — never your letters or guesses.
Gold coins
When the round closes, whoever solved it in the fewest guesses earns 2 gold coins and the next fewest earns 1 — ties share the same amount. Spend a coin any time you run out of guesses to buy one more.
Worked example
Today's word length is 5. The group contributed:
BROOM works — it's five letters and contains R, O and O. Duplicates count: one O isn't enough when two players both played O, so ROAST would be rejected.
The Wild Letter rescue
Sometimes a letter combination has no valid word at all. Rather than waste your day, we turn one of the contributed letters into a Wild Letter (★) that can stand for anything. It's chosen the same way for everyone in the group, and it's nobody's fault — it's just the dictionary.
Streaks
Your group keeps a team streak for consecutive puzzles solved. You also keep a personal streak for every day you locked your letter before the reveal and the group finished the round. Solo practice never affects either.
